The project extends the Blavatnik School's COVID-19 Government Response Tracker to assess public policy responses to COVID-19 for different levels of government in Brazil.

Project overview

Extending the data from the Blavatnik School's Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker to Brazilian states and cities, this project examines how Brazilian subnational COVID-19 response policies have affected mobility and citizen behaviour, and assesses the risk of openness in each subnational jurisdiction and their response alongside WHO criteria.

The Oxford COVID-19 Government Response Tracker’s Brazil subnational data and its indices for the federal government, state governments, and governments of more than 50 cities are freely available online.

The Tracker subnational data for Brazil is updated in real-time and will be continuously refined and improved throughout the crisis.

The project is run in partnership with Rio de Janeiro’s EBAPE-FGV, the University of São Paulo, and the State University of Pará.
