Capitalism recoupled

This paper examines the forces that have decoupled economic prosperity from social prosperity, and explores how recoupling can be promoted. Globalisation, technological advance and 'financialisation' have weakened the connections between economies and societies over the past four decades, according to the paper. The authors want to jettison the premise that social progress follows financial performance from economic decision-making.

Karthik Ramanna article on how BMW uses carbon accounting in its supply chain

Karthik Ramanna co-developed the E-Liability algorithm, which allows rigorous accounting of greenhouse gas emissions across the whole supply chain of a product or service. Many organisations have now piloted versions of the E-Liability algorithm. This article by Karthik and Lauren Holloway looks at the case of BMW.

Op-ed by Karthik Ramanna: 'America’s Advantage in Clean Production Can Make Manufacturing Great Again'

American manufacturers generally use cleaner energy sources and production methods than overseas competitors – so emissions-based tariffs would favour the USA without triggering inflation or a trade war, argues Karthik Ramanna in ProMarket.
