Mark has been with the Singapore Police Force for close to 12 years, where he worked on policies related to the protection of critical infrastructure, the use and deployment of auxiliary police forces, and the maintenance of public order.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Mark was part of an inter-agency task force that coordinated the Government's enforcement of safe distancing measures, and over the course of his career, Mark has undertaken research projects for the International Criminal Police Organisation and the Ministry of Home Affairs that touch upon policing related issues from an organisational development and international relations perspective. His academic background lies in the social sciences, and he prides himself on being able to use a cross-disciplinary lens to analyse social issues with a public policy nexus.

Mark's current policy interests lie in regulation and enforcement, in particular, the field of virtual/cyber policing and the regulation of online harms including scams.
