James started his career as a Management Associate at DBS Bank, Singapore's flagship institution where he gained experience in investment banking and wealth management. He then switched his suits for the uniforms of the Singapore Police Force, where he contributed to investigations, operations and policy-making. James was humbled to be awarded the Sword of Honour and placed onto the Ministry of Home Affairs' leadership management scheme.

Most recently, James returned to DBS Bank and worked on risk assurance and digital transformation. He was also a legislative assistant to a parliamentarian, analysing government policies and preparing parliament speeches. James also spearheaded digital inclusion for more than 11,000 elderlies as a community leader.

With an interdisciplinary background, James' policy interests lie in public security, digital and financial inclusion, and transitions into digital and green economies.
