João Pedro is Writer-Researcher at the Lemann Foundation Programme at Oxford, a comparative research programme with an emphasis on improving the public sector in Brazil.
João Pedro holds an undergraduate degree in international relations, with a focus on political science, from the Universidade de São Paulo, and has extensive experience working on economic and social issues.
Around 2007, he spent a year abroad for an international volunteering programme which included training and fundraising in the northeast United States and working in a teacher training school for young adults in Katabola, a village in the centre of Angola.
For the past decade, he worked as an editor at the publication EXAME, for which he covered major national and international events and engaged with current public policy debates. During the COVID-19 crisis, he led a series of live talks with business and community leaders about the challenges presented by the pandemic.
João Pedro is a graduate of the Master of Public Policy class of 2020 at the Blavatnik School.
