João Pedro Caleiro
I am 34 years old and was born and raised in São Paulo, Brazil. I hold an undergraduate degree in international relations, with a focus on political science, from the Universidade de S‹o Paulo. Around 2007, I spent a year abroad for an international volunteering programme which included training and fundraising in the northeast United States and working in a teacher training school for young adults in Katabola, a village in the centre of Angola. For the past decade, I have been an editor at the publication EXAME, for which I covered major national and international events and engaged with current public policy debates. More recently, I led a series of live talks with business and community leaders about the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic. My key interests include economic and social policy design with a special focus on inequality, a major concern in Brazil.
