biography

Isatou is a media professional with over five years of experience in the industry. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism from the University of The Gambia and an Honours Degree in Media Theory and practice from the University of Cape Town, where she was a Mandela Rhodes Scholar.

Previously Isatou worked as Programmes and Communications Director at State of Mic Multimedia, one of the biggest multimedia houses in The Gambia. She is also the founder and Executive Director of Girls Talk Organisation, a non-profit organisation that advocates for the rights and well-being of girls and young women. Isatou has just completed a Master's Degree in Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at the University of Oxford. She is interested in social policy development and analysis to better the lives of women and girls in sub-Saharan Africa by designing, developing, and proposing appropriate policy measures across the continent.

Isatou is a Rhodes scholar.
