Thomas Hale, Associate Professor in Public Policy (Global Public Policy), has provided written evidence and recommendations for the UK's Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee as part of an enquiry on the UK’s ‘Net Zero’ target and the UN Climate summits.
The inquiry seeks to examine and inform progress towards the UK's 2050 net zero target; the potential role of business and industry in the net zero agenda; and the UK's role in international climate talks and initiatives, including the UNFCCC COP26, now due to take place in Glasgow in November 2021.
Thomas's submission highlights the critical nature of COP26 and outlines how the UK can address key challenges and opportunities to secure a positive outcome from the conference.
