Sir Paul Collier, Professor of Economics and Public Policy, has been awarded the award for his work in the areas of development and migration, in particular on the Syrian refugee crisis. The jury selected Professor Collier as his research combines academic excellence with a commitment to promoting equality and social justice.
The Citizenship Award is bestowed annually to a person, initiative or organisation whose activity has demonstrated outstanding commitment to creating an open, democratic and tolerant society.
