I began my bachelor's in civil engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2011, before undertaking an internship with the World Health Organization in Geneva in 2014. During my internship, I was surprised to find the dismal state of sanitation and water supply in India. After graduating, I founded Sukriti, a technology non-profit working in the domain of water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH). In the past five years, we have impacted around 20,000 lives with improved sanitation facilities and have saved more than 15 million litres of fresh water. I am now preparing to play an even larger role in driving sustainable water policies as we approach impending water scarcity.
