Martin Williams, Associate Professor in Public Management, and Margarita Gómez, Executive Director of the People in Government Lab, have co-authored new research how public sector organisations can better manage employees to improve performance.
The article 'Four lenses on people management in the public sector: an evidence review and synthesis', co-authored with Aisha J Ali and Javier Fuenzalida. presents a review of literature on people management and performance in public sector organisations.
They look at evidence through four lenses or levels of analysis: individuals, organisations, teams, and relationships and suggest that drawing connections across these levels will be increasingly important for advancing understanding of the issues.
