Yen-Lin (mashbean) is a physician from Taiwan working on digital governance, democratic resilience, and decentralised technologies. He is currently General Manager of Matters, a censorship-resilient publishing and community platform, and a Policy Fellow at Harvard Kennedy School’s Allen Lab for Democracy Renovation. He is also an International Strategic Forum 2026 Fellow and a member of the Ethereum Foundation’s Silviculture Society. From 2023 to 2025, Yen-Lin served at Taiwan’s Ministry of Digital Affairs, where he led on digital public infrastructure project related to decentralised identity systems and open internet standards. His key policy interests include digital democracy, deliberative civic technology, privacy, freedom of speech, AI and democracy, and the institutional design of emerging technologies. Beyond policy work, he writes as an art columnist for ARTouch and has performed at the Ars Electronica Festival as an artist.
