biography

Sarah McAra is Associate Director and Senior Case Writer at the Blavatnik School’s Case Centre on Public Leadership, where she oversees a team of case writers to develop cases, simulations, and other teaching material in close collaboration with faculty from across the School. She also helps to train internal and external instructors and writers on case writing and case teaching.

Prior to joining the Blavatnik School of Government, Sarah worked at Harvard Business School as a case writer, where she worked with faculty across a range of fields, such as entrepreneurship, social enterprise, business ethics, and marketing, to co-author more than a dozen case studies (including multiple best sellers), teaching notes, and other teaching materials for MBA and Executive Education courses. She also served as an AmeriCorps volunteer at a children’s music non-profit in Boston.

Sarah holds a BA in Sociology from Wellesley College and an MSc in Social Policy from the London School of Economics.
