biography

Richard is a Chilean engineer passionate about cities and committed to improving urban life. His policy interests lie in sustainable infrastructure and urban development and their intersection with innovation and climate action. In more than five years working as a Transport Division consultant at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), Richard supported the implementation of numerous development projects focused on improving access to safer and more reliable sustainable transport services across more than 20 Latin American countries. He also contributed to novel digital transformation projects, including Latin America's first autonomous vehicle pilot experience for public transportation and its related expert seminar series and open innovation challenge.

Richard has authored academic and technical publications based on his work at the IDB and his research undertaken during his Masters in Engineering Sciences, encompassing topics related to sustainable transport systems and their development in Latin America.
