Parth is a mechanical engineer and civil servant from India working with the Indian Railways, the world's fourth largest rail transportation networks. Over the past nine years, he has led multilateral teams and worked for infrastructure modernisation, service innovation, and sustainable operations. Several of these initiatives have been recognised for their impact on environmental standards and service efficiency. Parth's academic and professional journey is driven by a belief that public institutions can be transformed to better serve people through effective policy, robust systems, and inclusive governance. He has also served in the voluntary armed forces of India, an experience that deepened his understanding of leadership and public duty. Beyond work, he writes poetry, plays squash, and occasionally ventures into the open sea for a dive. At Oxford, Parth is looking forward to learning from and contributing to a rich ecosystem, and to reimagining a more humane, responsive, and equitable governance. Parth is a Commonwealth Shared scholar.
