biography

Meredith is originally from Appalachian Ohio, USA and as an undergraduate studied Political Science and Biology with a minor in Chemistry. She is passionate about the intersections of science, politics, and social justice. Meredith's research spans projects supported by the US National Science Foundation on anti-cancer drug delivery, genomics, and invasive species tracking. Beyond the lab, Meredith has worked in the nonprofit sector to advocate for immigration reform, assist asylum seekers, and help unionise migrant workers. Most recently, she was a fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies, where she partnered with grassroots movements in Central America on trade and mining policy and analysed corporate influence over US climate legislation. These experiences across science and policy sparked Meredith's interest in how societies will navigate critical and emerging technologies and how socially just and resilient policies can be deisgned in the face of rapid change. Merdith is a Rhodes scholar.
