We are delighted to announce that Emily Jones, Associate Professor in Public Policy, has been selected for a 2019 Divisional Teaching Award (Early Careers Stream) by the Social Sciences Divisional Board. The award, which was given following a submission on Emily’s behalf by the School’s Dean, Professor Ngaire Woods, serves as recognition of Emily’s outstanding contribution to teaching within the School and the wider Social Sciences Division.
One of the elements leading to Emily’s selection for the award was her commitment to incorporating diverse and enriching learning experiences and assessment types into her courses, which was demonstrated by student feedback submitted as part of the award application.
The Board also highlighted Emily’s continued efforts to ensure that teaching materials represent the countries and backgrounds of her students. Her commitment to diversity sets the standard for achieving the School’s mission to equip its students with an international perspective, and we would like to congratulate Emily on this excellent achievement.
