Nay Yan Oo (MPP 2018) writes an op-ed for The Brookings Institution, a leading US think tank, on the political crisis that has developed in Myanmar since the military coup in February 2021. Nay Yan Oo advocates for international involvement to help bring all conflicting parties to the negotiation table to limit further civilian fatalities and for humanitarian assistance to provide COVID-19 vaccines and assistance to internally displaced people.

Carlos Santiago Guzmán Gutiérrez, an alumnus of the Master of Public Policy and the MSc in Public Policy Research, has received the inaugural Michael Cichon Graduate Award for outstanding master’s thesis in Social Protection. The award recognises his MSc thesis, “Universal Social Protection Schemes in Forced Displacement Settings: Evidence from Colombia.”
