As Second Clerk to the Environmental Audit Committee in the UK House of Commons, Medha Bhasin (MPP 2017) is leading the secretariat of the UK's Parliamentary inquiry into biodiversity. The inquiry seeks to evaluate the UK government's progress on meeting domestic and international biodiversity targets. Its remit includes examining how to protect and enhance biodiversity, as well as balancing economic growth and conservation of nature. The inquiry will examine how best to coordinate UK environmental policy, while exploring how nature-based solutions can address challenges around climate change and biodiversity.
Medha is carrying out this work as part of the four-year House of Commons Graduate Development Programme. Read her alumni profile to find out more about her experience of the programme and how she is applying the skills she developed during her time on the MPP.
