Amina Tarraf (MPP 2014) has been appointed as Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Social Policies. The Ministry of Social Solidarity provides support to Egypt's most vulnerable citizens through welfare systems, social support services and campaigns.
As Assistant Minister, Amina's tasks will include monitoring and evaluation of the ministry's policies and projects; contributing to the ministry's research, reporting and strategy development; and developing policies to facilitate the ministry's work in implementing economic and social protection programmes.

Carlos Santiago Guzmán Gutiérrez, an alumnus of the Master of Public Policy and the MSc in Public Policy Research, has received the inaugural Michael Cichon Graduate Award for outstanding master’s thesis in Social Protection. The award recognises his MSc thesis, “Universal Social Protection Schemes in Forced Displacement Settings: Evidence from Colombia.”
