Several related projects are being developed to improve science education in different contexts. The overall goal of this work is to empower scientific educators to maximize the impact of their teaching through engagement with educational research and theory.

The focus for most science academics is the science and their research, while the time available for teaching is often limited to the teaching itself. We are creating programs and opportunities for scientists, especially those early in their career or in resource poor settings, that minimize the time commitment required but maximize the impact on understanding of educational best practice.

We are developing new courses that combine face-to-face and online learning. We currently have an application in with Grand Challenges Canada to fund an educational program for scientists, medics, and primary health care workers in Lesotho.
