biography

From Pakistan with a solid foundation in law and a commitment to public service, Zariya has shaped her career around the pursuit of justice and equity. After practicing law and defending critical fundamental rights of Pakistani citizens, Zariya pursued a Master of Laws at Harvard Law School on a Fulbright Scholarship, deepening her understanding of legal frameworks and their impact on society.

Upon her return from Harvard, she joined the civil service of Pakistan and worked with the government on revenue collection and maximisation. Previously Zariya worked as the Research Lead at LUMS (a not-for-profit university in Pakistan) and focusing on gender equity. Her areas of interest include law, justice, equity, and social development.

Zariya is a Joint Japan/World Bank scholar.
