Yuma hails from Japan where he majored in political science and philosophy of law. Academic theories of justice made Yuma realise the importance of justification and accountability, and he entered the Japanese Ministry of Finance in 2021, in charge of G7/G20 and IMF-related issues. International negotiation has provided Yuma with the opportunity to consider Japan's vital interests and what he can do to contribute to increasing Japanese presence as well as to the development of the international community.
Yuma believes that those who are responsible for public policy should also have wider interests, such as aesthetics, because it extends and deepens their personal mindset, which is necessary for policymakers. Yuma enjoys visiting museums.
Yuma is a Japanese Government Program Scholar.
