biography

Yuji Yamaguchi was born and raised in Tokyo.

At university, he majored in educational psychology, familiarising himself with social research methodologies and contemporary psychological issues.

After graduation, he entered the Consumer Affairs Agency and accumulated administrative experience; he tackled a surge in scam letters, working out a countermeasure package in cooperation with many other ministries. Then as a legal reviewer, he engaged with a number of revisions of laws and ordinances in consumer-related areas such as online shopping and food labelling.

Yuji also has experience of working in the Financial Services Agency in Japan, where he gained a unique perspective on the roles of financial institutions, especially security companies.

Yuji hopes to acquire advanced skills in data analysis and improve policymaking abilities with expanding multidisciplinary insights. Yuji is a Japanese Government Long-Term Fellowship Program Scholar.
