Yan Hou is an Economic Diplomat who has served in the Central Government of China and the United Nations.
Yan has worked on International Cooperation, Policy Research and Sustainable Development Evaluation in Africa and Latin America for the Human Development Report. She also has experience in international investment banking and state-owned assets management for ten years.
In Europe, she has studied the European Union and monetary policy. In the US, Yan witnessed the Financial Crisis on Wall Street. In China, she has promoted market-oriented reform of state-owned enterprises, balanced budget and equitable distribution, and reform and development of the financial sector.
Yan holds an MBA degree from Peking University and studied the Global Leadership Development Program at the Ivy League, sponsored by China-US government cooperation.
Her research interests include global governance, development finance, the Belt and Road Initiative, international fiscal and monetary policies coordination. Yan is a Chevening Scholar.
