From Singapore, Wong is a recent Oxford graduate with first class honours in history and economics, specialising in modern and military history as well as quantitative methods. Having written his thesis on the history of the Singapore Armed Forces Boys' School, an institution at the nexus of education and defence policy, Wong is interested in the utility and sustainability of dual-use public policies as well as civil-military relations issues. Alongside his academic pursuits, he has kept abreast of international affairs and defence intelligence issues via his leadership of the Oxford University Strategic Studies Group, an internship with the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, and participation in the Cambridge Security Initiative's summer programme. Wong is a reservist Company Commander in the Singapore Army, having fulfilled his National Service duties as a Signal Officer, and a Singapore Government scholarship awardee.
