biography

Vivian is a Canadian Family and Emergency Physician with experience working in tertiary academic centres through to rural and remote areas across the country. Her clinical work emphasises how health and wellbeing are directly influenced by sociopolitical factors such as geographic location, education and income level. She is interested in public policy as a tool to protect and optimise the wellbeing of all individuals, particularly those made structurally vulnerable.

Vivian has an emerging interest in digital health, and how to leverage technology to improve both the patient and provider experience as well as intentionally promote health equity. Vivian has been fortunate to learn from the Canadian Women in Media Fellowship, the University of Toronto MSc System Leadership and Innovation and Global Health Education Initiative. She is grateful to mentors who have demonstrated true integrity and resolve in political office and frontline clinical work.

Vivian is a Canada Memorial Foundation Scholar.
