biography

From being an Indian defense scientist at the age of 21, to serving over eight years as an Indian Administrative Service officer, Vivek's journey has been driven by a deep commitment to give back to society. A mechanical engineer by education, Vivek has worked extensively at the grassroots level in areas such as rural development, development-driven insurgency reduction, mining, transport, and livelihood generation, while also playing key roles in pandemic response and disaster rehabilitation. He has led resettlement efforts related to one of India’s largest hydroelectric projects, managed federal and provincial elections, and contributed to industrial development. He also brings firsthand experience in various quasi-judicial roles. These diverse leadership experiences have shaped Vivek's public policy perspective and he now seeks to strengthen his policy foundation in urban development and economic planning. He is also a passionate sportsperson with national-level honors in basketball, squash and hockey. Vivek is a Joint Japan/World Bank scholar.
