biography

Victoria is from Nairobi, Kenya, and holds a BA in Global Affairs from Yale University (2024) and an MSc in Global Governance and Diplomacy from the University of Oxford. Most recently, Victoria's research has examined how global institutions become arenas where populism is refracted and reproduced in postcolonial contexts, with a focus on Kenya. She has served as a resolution negotiator and speechwriter for the Kenya Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, and as a researcher and policy analyst on East and Central Africa at the Council on Foreign Relations. At the School, Victoria is interested in understanding democratic backsliding as a transnational phenomenon, and in developing policy approaches that confront it simultaneously at local and global scales. Victoria is a Rhodes scholar.
