Vera is from Singapore and graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Business Administration (Accountancy) and Finance.

As part of her volunteering efforts, Vera has witnessed the challenges faced by the underprivileged in Singapore and this has been a driving force in her decision to work in the civil service. Her most recent position was in the Accountant-General's Office.

Vera is keen to tackle income inequality by looking at social security schemes and enhancing existing financial support systems. Income inequality has been exacerbated during the pandemic, deepening societal fractures and fault lines, and since public monies invested in policy implementation impacts policy effectiveness, Vera wants to combine her financial and policy knowledge to contribute to Singapore's financial policy reforms. Her hobbies are reading, participating in team sports and exploring new destinations.
