Valeria is a sustainable development engineer from Mexico, trained in international climate policy. Her main interest is global climate governance and how to advance science-based policies that enable public participation and remain adaptive to fast change. Since 2021, Valeria has worked for the Sustainability and Climate Change Plan of Tecnológico de Monterrey (Tec), strengthening the role of universities in climate action and building collaborations with external partners to turn intentions into tangible projects. She acts as liaison to several national and international networks and coordinated Tec's institutional UN Climate Change COP strategy since 2023. For COP30, Valeria co-led the Higher Education for Climate Action Pavilion, bringing together more than 50 universities worldwide. Ultimately, her aspiration is that her work helps ensure climate action and sustainable development initiatives in Mexico and Latin America and leads to tangible improvements in people’s lives.
