Born in Malawi, Taurai Banda, known as Samuel, has been the voice of the Ministry Of Finance and Economic Affairs for over three and a half years, his role centring on distilling and communicating complex fiscal policies and economic developments to diverse stakeholders. His competencies in fiscal and monetary policy, media relations and policy dissemination have been honed through direct involvement in financial programming, IMF negotiations, and monitoring and evaluation consultations with the World Bank.

Samuel is passionate about creating high impact and innovative financing models and policies fit for emerging markets. His goal is to help spearhead green and blue financing policies, and environmentally sustainable economic development policies for emerging markets. Coming from the Central Bank of Malawi, Samuel is geared to developing policy options that offer a balanced nexus for both fiscal and monetary policies to leapfrog African economies.
