biography

Souleymane is a recent graduate of the Schwarzman Scholars programme at Tsinghua University, where he earned a Master’s in Global Affairs. Originally from Guinea and a first generation high school graduate, Souleymane holds a BA in International Relations from the University of Rochester and is an alumnus of the African Leadership Academy. He cofounded the Guinean Young Leaders Initiative to foster youth leadership and entrepreneurship, and currently leads Fikia, an early career professional network connecting African students to career and learning opportunities. As a Summer Analyst at Goldman Sachs and PIMCO, Souleymane worked on enhancing campus talent acquisition through data analysis and supported the PIMCO Foundation’s efforts to strengthen its nonprofit partnerships via financial literacy education initiatives. He is interested in educational system design and reform policy, technology policy and regulation, and the broader field of constituent policy across emerging economies and the Global South.
