Sofía is a Chilean lawyer with a Master’s in Criminal Law from the University of Chile, where her thesis examined the challenges posed by generative artificial intelligence in the creation or alteration of evidence in criminal proceedings. Currently, Sofía works at the Studies Division of the Chilean National Prosecutor’s Office, advising on public security and technology policies, contributing to the drafting and discussion of key legislative bills, and participating in research on criminal phenomena such as homicides, kidnappings, and extortions. Previously, she worked at the High Complexity Crimes Unit, taking part in a landmark investigation into human rights violations committed during the October 2019 protests in Chile. Sofía's key policy interests focus on the intersection of criminal and criminal procedure law with emerging technologies, the development of public security policies, and academic research. Sofía is a Luksic scholar.
