Sigrun hails from Sweden and has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Uppsala University. After a few years as a consultant Sigrun worked as a political adviser to elected officials in Brussels and Stockholm, firstly as an Accredited Parliamentary Assistant to MEP Arba Kokalari in the European Parliament where she assisted in negotiating internal market legislation, including the Digital Services Act.
Sigrun moved back to Sweden to work on the Moderate party election campaign of 2022 and then joined the Swedish Minister for Finance as a political advisor. She recently took a two-month leave of absence to work as Campaign Coordination Officer at the campaign to re-elect Ursula von der Leyen as Commission President at the European People’s Party HQ in Brussels.
Sigrun is now looking to broaden her perspectives when it comes to policymaking, not least in the areas of technology, demography and fiscal policy.
