With nearly 10 years of experience in US government and politics, Sharmeen has focused on political strategy and foreign policy. Recently, she served as Director of Vetting Research at the White House under the Biden-Harris Administration. She also conducted research for President Biden’s political organisations, including his political action committee and 2020 presidential campaign.
At the US Department of State, Sharmeen served as Senior Advisor for the first-ever Subnational Diplomacy Unit. In this role, she focused on delivering the benefits of foreign policy to cities and states, including foreign direct investment and innovative climate change solutions. Sharmeen grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and completed her undergraduate studies in Politics at New York University. She is interested in learning how to advance economic opportunity and justice through the use of emerging technology. Outside of work and study, Sharmeen enjoys painting, reading and traveling.
