biography

Sharada Srinivasan is a researcher and international development professional working to enable Internet access and use for the ~3 billion unconnected.

Sharada is passionate about understanding how investments in technology can advance human progress and expand opportunities for all, especially those most marginalised.

Before studying at the Blavatnik, she worked at the World Bank Group as a Young Professional in the Office of the Chief Economist (Infrastructure) and the Digital Development Global Practice. There she contributed to the World Development Report 2021: Data for Better Lives, led analytical work across Eastern Europe and supported lending programmes in Afghanistan, Myanmar and the Marshall Islands, among others. 

Sharada joined the World Bank from the Center for Technology, Innovation and Competition at the University of Pennsylvania where she examined innovative initiatives addressing supply-and demand-side challenges to improve broadband adoption as a Research Fellow.

She holds a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Public Policy.
