Sarah is an economic analyst in the Research Department of the Central Bank of Pakistan, where she works on monetary policy, climate risk, and initiatives that strengthen public engagement with economic research and policymaking. Sarah holds a BS in economics and has written for leading Pakistani newspapers on climate change and sustainable development. She also co-authored the first study to develop a Climate Policy Uncertainty Index for Pakistan. Originally from the Swat Valley, a region of extraordinary beauty that has endured repeated climate disasters, Sarah’s policy interests lie at the intersection of climate policy and institutional reform. At Oxford, she hopes to deepen her understanding of public policy and leadership, with a particular interest in integrating long-term risks such as climate change into policy frameworks traditionally designed around short-term economic objectives, and contribute to policymaking that is both economically rigorous and socially responsive.
