Sara has spent four years with Newton Consulting, where she worked across the public sector, delivering transformation programmes in the NHS, social care and central government departments. Working inside these systems, she found she could reshape how services operated, but not the policies that defined them, a limit that pushed her toward the MPP. Prior to starting work, Sara read history at Oxford University, where she co-founded the Oxford Feminist Society and served on Mansfield College's Boat Club and Junior Common Room committees. She has carried her commitment to inclusion into work, co-leading Newton's Women’s Network, building a mentoring programme for junior women and supporting university access work. This year, she looks forward to swapping operational fixes for structural ones, specifically looking at how policy can close the gap between the circumstances people are born into and their chance of a fulfilling life. Sara hopes to finish equipped to shape public sector systems, not just improve them.
