Samuel is from Greenwich, Connecticut, and joined the United States Naval Academy to give back to a country that allowed his family to live the American dream. At the Academy, he majored in cyber operations and minored in Arabic, and he followed his passion for public service by pursuing leadership roles. This included becoming a Battalion Commander of over 700 Midshipmen during the Academic Year. He also finished a capstone project where he worked with professionals from United States government agencies to pursue a confidential project in cyberspace. Samuel became an Eisenhower Global Scholar and was selected to join the Officer Scholarship Program to pursue graduate education immediately after graduation. At Oxford, he wants to research the responsible integration of artificial intelligence into cybersecurity and national defense policy. After Oxford, he will complete his service obligation as a Marine Corps Officer. In his free time, he loves reading, playing the guitar, and finding good places to eat.
