Samia Mehraj is a development professional from Indian Administered Kashmir.
Samia has five years of work experience in the domains of maternal and child health, education and industrial development among others.
Samia specialises in tech and data governance and is currently working with UNICEF to support child educational interventions in the conflict-affected region of Kashmir. She has previously worked with several Indian state governments, international funds and economists.
On the MPP Samia seeks to explore the domains of public health and the environment with a focus on improving the quality of human lives in complex conflict-affected settings.
Additionally, Samia is a poet and a writer working on a debut book of short stories set in Kashmir with the South Asia Speak Literary programme. She has formal education in engineering, liberal arts and environmental law. In 2018, she graduated as a fellow from Ashoka University.
Samia is a Weidenfeld-Hoffman Trust Scholar.
