I'm Sameer Rashid Bhat from Kashmir (India). I completed a B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) from Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) in May 2018. My work experience ranges from internships with corporate law firms to research assistantships with government bodies. My finest policy experience came through assisting a member of the Law Commission of India (tasked to initiate reforms in laws and policies) on electoral and judiciary policies. Additionally, since the cause of human rights is close to my heart, I worked on the nexus between human rights and granting autonomy in governance to conflict-prone zones, at the Institute of Social Sciences.
At GNLU, I served as the Student Convener of the Centre for Law and Society, a focal point for socio-legal research, and as the Convener of the Student Welfare and Grievance Redressal Committee, a body that parleys with students and the university administration.
At the Blavatnik School of Government, I hope to expand on my interest in education, healthcare, human rights and electoral policies.
