Breadcrumb
Samantha is from Tasmania, Australia, a small island known for its beautiful and wild nature. She has spent her life exploring the outdoors, whether it be trail running, mountain biking, surfing, sailing, climbing, or multi-day hiking. Driven by the desire to preserve the natural world and fight climate change, Samantha chose to study law. Alongside her undergraduate studies, Samantha volunteered for several environmental charities, worked as a hiking guide, and spent 3-months on board an icebreaker in Antarctica as a small boat operator. After graduating she returned to Antarctica, this time to lead the resupply voyages for the Australian Government's Antarctic Program.
Samantha arrived in Oxford in September 2023 as a Rhodes Scholar to study an MSc in Environmental Change and Management, and is involved with the Sustainable Law Programme. She is looking forward to learning about climate change policy through the MPP, as well as the role and rules of power in society.
