From Indonesia, Salma is a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, specialising in international peace and security. Over the past four years, she has contributed to multilateral efforts addressing transnational crime, disarmament, and humanitarian issues in armed conflict. Early in her career, Salma was seconded to the Regional Support Office of the Bali Process, where she worked on regional efforts to address people smuggling, trafficking, and online scams. This experience sparked her interest in the intersection of technology and security, particularly in cyber policy and international efforts to combat cyber-enabled crime. It also reinforced Salma’s belief that diplomacy should extend beyond negotiating global commitments to shaping practical policies that better protect communities. Prior to joining the government, she completed a Bachelor's in International Relations at Universitas Gadjah Mada, earning the title of Best Graduate. Salma is an LPDP Scholar.
