Born and raised in China, Ruofei has always identified herself as a global citizen after having studied and interacted with people from different parts of the world.
Ruofei has been working with international and non-profit organisations with particular attention to the governance of AI, technology, and the Internet. Prior to joining the MPP, Ruofei studied at LSE where she focused on UK and EU digital technology policy research. Her policy research interests centre around the governance of automated systems, autonomous weapons, and algorithmic decision making, especially in relation to AI.
As an advocate for equality, fundamental rights, and common responsibility, Ruofei wishes to dedicate her career to facilitating global and multistakeholder communication, coordination, and collaboration in addressing pressing public policy challenges raised by emerging and automated technologies through conducting original and evidence-based policy research, analysis, and advocacy.
