biography

Rebecca Kitteridge, CVO is Professor of Practice in Public Policy at the Blavatnik School. Rebecca has served in a number of senior positions in the New Zealand public service, including Secretary of the Cabinet, Director-General of the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service, and Secretary of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Directly before joining the School, Rebecca held the role of Deputy Public Service Commissioner, one of three statutory officers responsible for the leadership of the New Zealand Public Service. Rebecca’s experience ranges from constitutional issues and legal compliance, which builds on her nine-year legal career, to ethics, institutional reform, government performance, national security, and international partnerships.

She was appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order in 2014 and won the Public Policy Award at the New Zealand Women of Influence Awards in 2017.
