biography

Rashid is from the UAE. He graduated from the University of Exeter with a BSc in Politics and International Relations with proficiency in French, after which he began an MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies at the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar, exploring how forced migration affects the MENA region and how its interdisciplinary dimensions can help inform policymaking.

In 2021, Rashid interned at the UAE's Embassy in London as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, where he was introduced to the intricacies of policymaking within a foreign policy and diplomacy framework. He was selected as the UAE's United Nations youth delegate during the 76th UN General Assembly. This role allowed him to collaborate with fellow youth delegates and participate in the development of youth resolutions. Rashid's key policy interests are those relating to youth empowerment, labour migration, and foreign policy.

Rashid is a Rhodes Scholar.
