Quincy is a Zambian national currently based in the UK. After completing her undergraduate studies in economics at the University of Edinburgh, she joined BlackRock in London where she analysed public and private corporate debt instruments as part of the due diligence process. Quincy’s policy interests focus on debt sustainability and creditworthiness in Africa, particularly in Zambia, where the country’s sovereign default during the COVID-19 era highlighted the economic stagnation, uncertainty, and development setbacks that can arise from prolonged debt resolution processes. Quincy is interested in exploring policies that strengthen debt management, improve transparency and accountability, and establish clearer frameworks governing the use of borrowed funds. Such reforms can help restore national credit reputations, lower borrowing costs, and ensure that scarce public resources are directed toward economic development and social progress rather than servicing excessive debt obligations.
