biography

Peter-Jort (PJ) is from Amsterdam, Netherlands. HIs path has taken him from studying law and politics at Utrecht University to advising leaders as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, and from being elected to local office at 18 to serving as a Reserve Officer in the Royal Dutch Navy. These experiences have sharpened his fascination with how power is exercised – formally through constitutions and policy, and informally through institutions, people, and ideas.

At Oxford, PJ hopes to explore how governments can act decisively yet accountably in moments of uncertainty, and how innovation can be harnessed for the public good without losing sight of democratic principles. He is looking forward to learning from a global community and bringing the same curiosity and disciplined drive that has guided his path through the intersection of policy, strategy, and service.
