Pedro Stoeckli Pires
My name is Pedro Stoeckli Pires and I am a Brazilian public servant with a PhD in Social Anthropology. I have been working with evaluation researchers of public policies in the Ministry of Social Development since 2013. In both my studies and work, I have focused on research fields that could potentially cast new light on modern dilemmas, such as social inequality and environmental impacts. During my PhD in Social Anthropology, I carried out original ethnographic research in the Brazilian Amazon, which portrays the local culture and discusses issues such as the impact of livestock. Due to my academic and research experiences, I was selected to work in the Evaluation Department, which is responsible for the production of information regarding Brazil's social programmes. Thus, my work involves the development of research projects and data collection instruments; the coordination of field research; the preparation, presentation and publication of studies, and occasionally organising seminars.
Pedro Stoeckli Pires is a Lemann Fellow 2018-19.
