Paschal (Paz) is the the founder and Executive Director of 2ai (Africa Initiative on Artificial Intelligence) which aims to be the preeminent centre of excellence in research on Artificial Intelligence in Africa. Like many across the world, 2ai sees AI as a game changer and Paz's work is thus focused on leveraging the potentialities of AI to leap-frog the Africa region into a high-growth pole. 2ai is not so much an accountability institution as much as a think tank offering policymakers including government, industry and civil society leaders a mix of resources such as policy frameworks, financing solutions, regulatory approaches and a hub to platform and highlight key agents and lessons critical to the advancement of Africa’s AI. Ultimately, Paz's copamny's success will be judged by the extent to which it contributes to unleashing and shaping the tremendous talents of current and future generations across Africa in using AI for inclusive and sustainable development.
